com Upgrades:
Original two speed Powerglide transmission (included with in the sale) has been replaced with a TH-200-4R four speed automatic transmission.
Nicely done.
Power Disk (front) Drum (rear) Brakes.
Vintage Air - Air Conditioning and Heat Aluminum Radiator and secondary electric fan - I assume this was installed with the AC Suspension - See below under Condition Condition:
Body:
Very nice and straight body panels.
Doors snap shut I can not find evidence of body panels being replaced or patch panels Floor and trunk appears to be original to be original and relatively clean.
No undercoating to hide problems.
Paint:
This GTO left the factory with Cameo White Paint.
I used my digital paint thickness meter on around 30 - 40 points on the car.
My meter read a very consistent paint thickness of 0.
6 - 1.
4.
Because of this, I assume the body was taken down to bare metal and repainted the current cameo white paint, but I have not yet seen any documents to support this.
But, I haven't looked at every history document yet (LOT's to look through).
I can not find any signs of any rust issues, such as tiny bubbles or hairline bondo/paint issues.
Very nice smooth high gloss paint.
I have found three very tiny paint chips.
They are about the size of a pensile eraser.
Nice chrome, stainless and trim.
Driveline:
Engine, Transmission (4-speed auto) and Rear End are reported to have less than 200 (two hundred) miles since rebuild.
Receipts to support are supposed to be in the large box of documents.
I will confirm when I get a chance.
Car starts, runs and drives EXCELLENT - I very much enjoyed my purchase test drive.
Suspension:
Front End appears to have been recently rebuilt, with a few upgrades including tubular control arms and disk brakes.
Ball Joints, Steering Gear Box, Coil Springs, bushings, etc.
appear to be newer.
The rear end lower control arms have been upgraded, and the rear coil springs and shock absorbers appear to be newer.
Interior:
Beautiful (and correct) black bucket seat interior.
No rips or tears.
Nice Carpet All Gauges work great - even the clock! Console Vacuum Gauge - works great AM Radio is in place but does not power up The Steering Wheel appears to be factory original.
Seatbelts work and look nice.
Turn Signal indictor lights and cancel cam work correctly Nice headliner and door panels.
Windows roll up and down fine.
Vintage Air Controls are operated by stock location controls.
Center Console Floor Shift Indicator has been upgraded to support the 4-Speed Automatic Transmission.
It appears that the floor shifter is factory original.
Wheels and Tires:
Newer Crager S/S Chrome Wheels BF Goodrich Radial TA Tires - While letters are turned in instead of out.
Engine Compartment:
Very nice and clean.
Trunk:
Very nice condition.
I can't find any signs of rust.
Jack and Spare Tire in place.
I will update this description as I find additional information.
