The Manager, Category Advisor - Walmart is responsible for developing category strategic business plans for Walmart and to build category sales volume and profitability and to provide best-in-class category advisory services and thought leadership.
This position is also responsible for growing customer categories by using category management principles utilizing customer and marketplace data to develop business building recommendations.
Position will engage the customer regularly to understand needs and category requirements to drive category-building initiatives.
The salary range for this position is:
$103,478 - $175,784 Position Function and Scope:
Build and maintain a consultative relationship with customer buyers, acting as a trusted resource while working collaboratively to achieve success within category Leverage data, space management tools, and automation to deliver best-in-class planograms and assess impact on performance Engage in (often) confidential conversations and planning sessions with the customer regarding protected information, putting the retailers needs and interests above all others.
Demonstrate advanced level capabilities working within the retailer's proprietary data, by providing customer with actionable fact-based category recommendations across assortment, shelving, and pricing Proactively identifies and communicates business issues as well as steps to address and resolve problems; identifies insights and recommendations from consumer and shopper behavior and translates implications into retailer action plan to grow sales Deliver prioritized schematic production schedule to meet customer requests and deadlines Collaborates with buyers to build assortment and shelving strategies Lead broader space initiatives across aisle and store Understand and apply best-practice category management process Actively engages in educating, coaching, and influencing others across the category insights team, sharing best practices and insights so that successes are broadly adopted and repeated Takes ownership of self-development, proactively seeking improvement, feedback, and coaching Act with the utmost fairness when making decisions that are in the best interest of the business Del Monte Foods Leadership Behaviors:

Qualifications:
BA/BS degree required; MBA preferred 3 - 5 years relevant business experience in CPG industry with supplier, retailer, or broker Proven record of success in retail grocery industry with consumer-packaged goods and food retailing Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to influence key customer stakeholders Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills, analytic and problemsolving skills Strong computer proficiency in Retail Link, JDA Space Planning, Microsoft Excel, Nielsen/IRI and competent in PowerPoint; myPG and Space Automation experience a plus WE OFFER:
