This position is primarily responsible for file organization and maintenance and support to the file room.
This position functions under the supervision by the Office Manager.
No subordinate personnel are assigned to this position.
Working contacts include attorneys and staff.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Organize and maintains files.
Closes files to be sent to storage according to instructions.
Retrieves files from storage as necessary.
Maintain storage space in a neat and orderly manner.
Files original correspondence daily.
Provides Monthly and Quarterly Reports.
Keeps active master List of cases.
Keeps list of closed files sent to storage.
Indexes pleadings.
Files are checked out on sign out cards and checked back in when returned.
Scans correspondence and pleadings for important information to be put in Makes sub-files as they are requested.
Box and index closed files and send to storage.
Must be physically able to lift accordion files to and from top shelf and to bend to retrieve and place files on bottom shelf.
Must be able to pay attention to details, including alphabet and numbers.
Must have excellent organizational ability.
Must be able to handle highly sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner.
Must be able to relate professionally and positively to staff and to always work cooperatively with firm personnel.
Qualifications:
Must have the equivalent of a high school education.
Must have a basic knowledge of personal computers with a data entry speed of 35 wpm.
Must have the ability to review data and summarize information to provide technical conflict assistance to requesting party.
Must be able to periodically lift approximately 40 pound file boxes.
Must be able to relate professionally and positively to staff and to work cooperatively with firm personnel at all times.
Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
Must meet all local health regulations, pass post-offer drug test, and pass post-employment physical exam, if required.
Must be capable of performing the essential job functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodations.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
