7K a year 8 days ago 8 days ago 8 days ago The PLC Support Technician/Maintenance Tech will support the plant's PLC controls and related systems including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Candidates for this position should have experience repairing, troubleshooting and programming PLC controls in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Functions:
Troubleshoot and repair plant electrical equipment and systems, as well as maintenance of documentation.
Use PCs and other diagnostic tools to monitor PLC controls and field bus systems.
Perform basic functions of robotic controller such as jogging, program navigation, and I/O monitoring.
Assembly and installation of production equipment as well as programming changes.
Informal training of peers with respect to controls.
Responsible for the support of standardization of control systems design and control logic design.
Will develop or assist in the development of operational procedures, as-built drawings and logic, as required.
May also interface with outside electrical contractors or service representatives when working on plant systems or equipment.
Troubleshoot of control and instrumentation equipment problems, and either complete the repairs or communicate to the Maintenance Supervisor the information needed to schedule the necessary repairs.
Qualifications and Requirements A minimum of 3 years of prior work experience in diagnosing and repairing PLC based control systems and proficiency in panel building and wiring modifications.
Should have previous PLC work experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of Allen Bradley RS Logix 5, 500, or 5000 is a must.
The facility also uses Micro-800 series PLCs.
Experience with variable frequency drives is also required.
Experience with hand tools, VOM's, and other tools of the trade.
Understanding of electrical code (wire sizing, fusing, safety) Ability to learn quickly from manuals or help files, and other resources.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
