Perform a normal range of general mechanical and limited electrical maintenance duties as assigned or directed, to keep plant equipment and facilities in proper operating condition.
Diagnose and remedy troubles; tear down, disassemble and repair equipment; replace broken or worn parts.
Operate machine sufficiently to establish status of operation.
Assist higher class personnel as required.
Set up and operate machine tools and equipment to make parts as necessary.
Perform arc or mig welding for repairs as necessary.
Select materials best suited for job, and construct simple tools and equipment as required.
Duties involve a variety of bench, hand and machine shop work requiring a knowledge of mechanical and electrical applications to diagnose and remedy troubles quickly on regular and emergency repairs to insure satisfactory and efficient operation.
Record production, maintenance and time data.
Duties also involve the installation, maintenance or repair of carpentry work, such as offices, walls, windows, floors, production items, furniture items.
Maintain, install and repair piping, plumbing, and sanitary facilities.
Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition.
Follow standard or prescribed safety regulations.
Detect faulty operation and defective material and report all questionable cases to supervisor.
Perform similar and associated duties as required or directed.
Bidders for this position must have industrial maintenance experience equivalent to 2 years or have completed a trades training program of 1-2 years for industrial maintenance or related field.
Shift opening may be 2nd, 3rd or a 12-hour shift.
Must be able to train on any shift necessary.
